Spirit Tomb - Sort Tulipan - Ltd Cassette
Sort Tulipan comes as a gift to the one and only Seigmen, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Total, an unsurpassed classic that has greatly inspired Leon Kristoffer, the visionary behind the one man vessel Spirit Tomb.
With only vocals, piano, and cello, Leon Kristoffer reimagines Seigmen’s “Sort Tulipan” from Total (1994) and “Performance Alpha” from Radiowaves (1997). Leon Kristoffer gives renditions that are beyond heartfelt, and his dramatic prowess has been praised for its ability to put just about any trained thespian to shame.
Touched by the lethal dew of the most abysmal poetic thoughts and laced with love’s elixir, Sort Tulipan provides an experience that overpowers by way of the strength of its fragile beauty, suffocating intimacy, and the lavishness birthed within the framework of its strict adherence to minimalism.
The photo on the cover of Sort Tulipan was taken by the supremely talented Nicolai Karlsen, Leon Kristoffer’s constant collaborator, who is assisting him with all things visual. The image displays a pocket watch that Leon Kristoffer inherited from his great-grandfather who died at the very same age that he himself is now, 38, reminding us: “all tid er forbi, all tid er over.”
Spirit Tomb’s work has been recognized for its brilliance by the likes of MetalSucks and Metal Injection. Amounting to the third masterpiece in Spirit Tomb’s arsenal, Sort Tulipan has already received a glowing review from Metal Insider. Follow their advice, and surrender to the genius of Spirit Tomb! Its flowers will continue to bloom within you for life.
